Peanut Butter Diamond

A sale in souls went bad
Compensated by the breaths they had

They saw that cold fire glow
But they didn’t feel the warmth just the snow
Too close would be to burn
Too distant would be to yearn

A border is where that comfort is born
Neither indifference; nor understanding
Floating gently and not harsh landing

I shut my eyes in a room that is completely dark
Only then would that darkness seem stark
And then I think peanut butter can be diamonds
This era is a company of lonely islands
