Day 24: Elixir

He had the elixir of life
It’s mere possession made him shudder with pride
He thought he was immortal, he thought he was a god
He maybe forgot that even gods go to wars

Truth be told elixirs are natural beauties
Deep, pretty and filled with fatal treaties
The flowers grow where dead men rest
You asked me that when you knew best

Curses and blesses make up for gaps and inconsistency
Fresh and fun in the beginning but tiring as a duty

Fantasy and feeling is tasting what you never saw
Remember even artlessness can make originality thaw
Some things are felt less with the mind than your whole body
Trust your sharp instincts and not what’s gaudy
